Professional Summary
Dr. Regan Postma-Montaño serves as Senior Academic Writing Consultant in the Research and Writing Development Center (RWDC) within the EdD in Learning and Organizational Change program and also as an Associate Graduate Faculty at Baylor University. Dr. Postma-Montaño brings over a decade of experience in college writing instruction in both English and Spanish, along with a background in nonprofit leadership, academic mentoring, and community-based partnerships. In her current role, she supports doctoral students and helps them develop as confident, effective scholarly writers.
Her research focuses on contemporary Latin American and Latinx youth literatures, with particular attention to justice, storytelling, and civic engagement. She is co-author of Tactics of Hope in Latinx Children's and Young Adult Literature (University of New Mexico Press, 2022, 2024) and has published in journals such as Children's Literature Association Quarterly, International Research in Children's Literature, and Women's Studies. Her current project is a monograph on resistance in Latinx American youth literatures and cultures.
A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Postma-Montaño has led community-based literacy initiatives and a mentoring program focused on supporting educational access and student development. Now based in Texas, she enjoys exploring the region with her spouse (Jesus, Baylor English Department) and their energetic Labrador.
