Professional Summary

Dr. Stefan W. Vaughn is a Lecturer in Baylor's Moody School of Education’s Professional Online Learning Unit and faculty advisor in the EdD in Learning and Organizational Change program. He teaches courses in quantitative research methods and community leadership. He supports students completing doctoral research on a variety of professional topics. Dr. Vaughn remains committed to researching system-oriented approaches that advance organizational leadership and effectiveness as well as social justice.

Prior to working in higher education, Dr. Vaughn served in a variety of senior-level capacities during a 20+ year professional career as a law enforcement officer, Chief of Corrections, and Director of Public Safety. Dr. Vaughn completed the Certified Public Manager program from the Center for Public Management at Florida State University as well as the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership programs of Florida’s Criminal Justice Executive Training Institute. He has also taught doctoral research courses at the University of West Florida and undergraduate courses in organizational leadership, criminal justice, and cultural competence at Texas A&M University-Commerce. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Shelby D. Vaughn, and their Doberman Pinscher, while exploring the great state of Texas.
