Professional Summary

Dr. Ricardo García is a Senior Lecturer in Baylor's Moody School of Education’s Professional Online Learning Unit and faculty advisor in the EdD in Learning and Organizational Change program. Dr. García brings over 30 years of experience in education to his role, beginning fall 2025. He most recently served as Lecturer in the School of Education and Health Sciences at the University of Dayton, where he was recognized with the 2024 Faculty Assessment Award.

Prior to that, he held academic and administrative positions across a range of institutions, including Assistant Dean of the School of Education at Lindenwood University and Clinical Assistant Professor and Graduate Program Director at Florida International University (FIU), where he also received the 2019 Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Arts, Sciences and Education. His leadership in community college systems includes roles such as Associate Vice Chancellor for Developmental Education and College Readiness at Tarrant County College, and multiple deanships within the Dallas County Community College District.

 García’s research focuses on the marketization of higher education, labor precarity in academia, and critical pedagogy. He is deeply committed to collaborative scholarship and community-building, and looks forward to contributing to Baylor’s mission and to supporting its students, faculty, and staff.
